The Windcast BR LD is fitted with Daiwa’s Bite ‘n’ Run technology. This is a freespool system which, when the Bite ‘n’ Run lever is engaged, allows the carp to take your bait and run with it. The moment you start to apply pressure through the handle the lever disengages, stopping the free spool motion and bringing in Daiwa’s powerful drag. This ensures you’re able to get a solid hookset each time and significantly reduces the chance of lost fish. This is the same Bite ‘n’ Run technology that you’ll find on the incredibly popularl Infinity BR and, in fact, many of the features on this reel are a mirror copy of the Infinity series. However, the Windcast BR LD does benefit from a number of developments and progresses – namely the body size and weight of the reel. This has been significantly reduced from the Infinity BR and the Windcast BR LD only weighs a mere 610g. This ensures it will sit wonderfully on any distance casting carp rod. Not only this but the reduced chassis size enables this reel to fit more compactly into your luggage whilst still giving you all the performance benefits of a big pit reel.
